Twin Bracelets: Jennifer Hartman
Two-time World Series of Poker winner Jennifer Harman is a woman that you should keep an eye on if you find her across the table from you. Aside from the sheer amount of skill and luck that is involved in winning even one, which makes her achievement special in itself, this is cheerily coupled with the fact that she's the only woman in the world to earn two World Series of Poker bracelets. Born Reno, Nevada, it seems like Jennifer Harman's poker celebrity status was destined from day one. Despite this almost literary foreshadowing, her father still did not take the news of her desire to be a poker player well. They would reconcile as her poker playing career took off.
It actually got to the hilarious point that Jennifer would win back money that her father lost at the game of poker. At the tender age of sixteen, Jennifer would take it open herself to get into the game. Her key to the casino doors, despite her age, was a fake ID she hard procured. Early trips to the casino tables did not go well, giving her a difficult start at the game. As a casino waitress that played on duty, Jennifer would also back up all the playing as a college student.
Later on, this future poker celebrity would graduate with a degree in biology and move to Los Angeles, becoming a bartender after she did so. No more than three days behind the bar, a friend of Harman's would advise her to get into the Bicycle Casino. This would be the wisest decision that she would make as a poker player. Days later, she would ditch her newfound bartending job to fully devote herself to the rising sport. This would lead to the initial fallout between Jennifer and her father.
Years later she would attempt to start a business. This would end in catastrophic failure with Jennifer Harman declaring bankruptcy. Even her attempt to return to the casino tables would initially be ill-fated, as she would lose money that she borrowed just for that purpose. Things would be tense for her for a long time as she took out a loan just to fight back at the poker tables. Eventually, through her sheer determination and moxie, Jennifer Harman would fight herself out of debt and into the green. Since then, she has been careful to keep her bankroll thick and healthy, swearing to never again fall into dire straits with her bankroll and any other aspect of her life.
